School Bond Projects

2024 Mill & Bond - Investing in Excellence

Thanks to the support of our community, the Cherry Creek School District can continue to deliver excellence for our students, staff, and community.

The overwhelming support for the 2024 Mill and Bond helps to ensure high-quality teachers, innovation and in-demand career training, and safe, healthy schools for all students. The 2024 Bond is funding capital construction improvements across the district, with many of the projects underway.

The Cherry Creek PreK-12 Campus bond project is a multi-year process to replace aging and deteriorating buildings on the Cherry Creek PreK-12 Campus, starting with Cherry Creek High School in Phase I. The campus, encompassing Cherry Creek HS, Campus MS, and Belleview ES, is home to some of the oldest buildings in the district, including the West Building on the campus of Cherry Creek HS which was built in 1955. In recent years, buildings on the campus have been challenged with aging infrastructure, specifically the West Building, which will be the primary focus of Phase I.

Phase I

Phase I will begin with the demolition of the two district administrative office buildings on the site in order to make room for the new West Building. The existing West Building will be replaced with two new buildings—one dedicated to academics and the other to athletics. Phase I will also include redeveloped parking areas and a primary vehicular entry to campus from Union Avenue. The current parking lot west of the Stutler Bowl will become a parking lot for the high school.

Phase II

Phase II of the project will be included in a possible 2028 bond package and will add two new buildings dedicated to academics and the arts, a new pool as part of the West Building, and an expansion of the Phase 1 athletic building. It will also include additional parking.

If a 2028 bond is unsuccessful, the rest of CCHS will not be rebuilt; however all buildings included in Phase I will be fully completed.

UPDATE (May 2026): A master plan to envision how to rebuild the entire CCHS PK-12 campus was presented to district and school leadership nearly two years ago. The original master plan indicated that the West Building could be completed in one building. Once the actual design process began, it was determined one building would not be sufficient to replace all the academic spaces in the West Building. That triggered the need for a second building and therefore the need to move the tennis courts.  The decision was made to keep the current pool in order to prioritize academic learning spaces and maximize the taxpayer investment in the current pool since it was recently renovated as part of the 2012 bond.
